On my recent trip to support the Quebec edition of the Ride To Conquer Cancer there was a small bit of time aside from the event. Flying into Montreal then following the event as it made its way to Quebec City I found myself in both areas with enough time to snap a few pictures and see a small selection of the tourist sights. Only a taste of Canada’s oldest cities but enough to know that at some point I will need to touch up on my french and make way back for a longer visit.
For the second year I had the opportunity to help support the Quebec Ride to Conquer Cancer. This ride runs from Montreal to Quebec City where 1800 riders banded together and raised $6.4 million dollars towards cancer research and treatment. Better known in beautiful Quebec as “Cyclo-défi Enbridge contre le cancer” this is another amazing event! I am proud to have been able to offer tech support on this and many other Ride to conquer Cancer events over the past 5 years. Next up is Alberta on August 10-11th.
Here are a jumble of photos from the ride!
One last RTCC post for the year. I threw together a short video from the Montreal Ride To Conquer Cancer. Great event, great people and another amazing fundraiser!
The Montreal Ride To Conquer Cancer is now complete. As the fourth and final event for Canada this was also the 8th RTCC that I have offered tech support at. After 8 tours, this is also the first event that was 100% rain free. With 30+ degree temperatures and clear skies the riders had different problems than usual. Keeping hydrated and cool was crucial in making it across the finish line. The riders were strong and all 2000 of them came together to raise $7 Million for the Montreal Jewish Hospital.
