Sea To Sky Gondola in Squamish British Columbia

0

Squamish BC is home to a unique tourist Gem. Climbing from sea level to the peak next to the iconic Chief rock is the Sea To Sky Gondola. Not only is this the best place to take in the Howe Sound view but it is also a great place to hike and enjoy a cold beer with lunch. At the top of the gondola is a coffee shop, gift shop, cafeteria style restaraunt and a bar which serves local, Howe Sound Brewery beer.

If you have never experienced the Sea To Sky Gondola it is worth the trip. Pack your hiking boots as you will want to spend some time exploring. When you are finished hiking you can sit back and enjoy the spectacular view with a pint in hand.

Climbing the Squamish Chief

0

It has been some 2 years since I last climbed the Squamish (or Stawamus) Chief and seen the incredible vista from the top. Kelly and I made the trek this past Friday to crack Kelly’s chief-ginity… The hike is steep but the view at the peak is well worth it. Having a beer at the peak is also a bonus!!!!

The Sound Of Wedding Bells Ringing

Went to a friends wedding last weekend. It was in Squamish at the Sunwolf Outdoor Centre. It is a beautiful location for a beautiful wedding. I brought my camera and snapped a few photos along the way. The problem with weddings though is that you can’t be a photographer and a guest… I was a guest.

Beautiful Wedding!

Hiking the Lions – The top of our local world

0

The Lions Peak is a mountain behind Cypress outside of Vancouver. The hike starts in Lions bay off highway 99 heading up towards Squamish/Whistler. The total hike takes anywhere from 5-8hrs depending on how fast you plan to go. A great day hike, or you can even camp out if you are feeling it. While I was recently doing this hike, someone actually fell into a crevasse and had to be heli-rescued. Here are some photos from the day’s hike.

Panoramania

This is a panorama from The Squamish Chief looking out over the inlet. The clouds flatten the image but I still think it turned out pretty well. (click on it to see abigger version)
